Abstract:
The book called “Georgian Paradise” by Mikheil Sabinin was published
in 1882 by Peter Burg. While talking about the publication, several items
are worth bearing in mind: the goal of the publication, content, scientific
and practical needs, importance and value, especially in the modern period,
sources of the book, the meaning of the title of the book to define the notes and comments made by Mikheil Sabinin. The notes were presented
by the author about the format of the book. There are ancient Georgian
writings in chronological order, as well as some published homily and historical
stories. The main valuable part is the author’s foreword, in which is
the author describes issues connected to the writing of the book, its significance, sources and the attitudes of Georgians and other nationalities to
the book. This book is very important for the exploration of ancient Georgian
literature. It was the first full collection of ancient Georgian literature,
the samples of which had not been published before. Moreover, Georgian
society has no other publications of this type. The author also realized the
significance of the book.
