dc.description.abstract The Tourist destination is a very complex system from the perspective of conceptual understanding. It’s obvious, that the elements of the system are closely interrelated, correspondingly they can influence positively or negatively to the functioning of the system. In modern conditions, it has become a significant to elaborate the relevant long term policy for the tourist destination, which could be implemented within the framework of the strategic development plan. Due to the fragmented nature of the destination planning process, it requires to rely on the different types of knowledge and disciplines. The paper deals with the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of the development of tourist destination. Furthermore, special attention has been paid on innovative transdisciplinary research approaches, which enables us to integrate experiential and scientific knowledge, which is important for the development of the tourism destination. en_US
