Abstract:
Conspiracy (1765) of Prince Paata Bagrationi (1720-1765), son of
Vakhtang VI, king of Kartli (central part of Georgia), is one of less known
events of the second half of the 18th century.
According to the observation of historical sources, it is ascertained in
the presented work that the number of participants of the conspiracy, in fact, is
higher than it had been previously known. After the failure of the conspiracy,
many perpetrators from the nobilty were severely punished, part of them were
executed, part of them – mutilated, others lost their titles and lands and were
exiled to South-West part of Kakheti (Eastern part of Georgia) – Gare Kakheti,
nowadays Sagarejo district.
