Abstract:
Civil integration based on liberal-democratic values becomes more and
more important in post-Soviet Georgia. The author notes that within this reality
educational and cultural standartization should be based on a new multicultural
model called “cultural freedom”. This means that individual freedom and
cultural choice are to exist in this context.
The work notes that Georgian civil nation should be formed not only in
means of common citizenship, territory, common state language, but also –
super-ethnical culture, which should be developed from peculiarities of
Georgian culture and its traditions. According to the author, this kind of “superethnical”
national identity may be called “Kartveliani” in Georgia.
