Abstract:
This paper describes the specific features of the process of the
differentiation of the world based on the conceptual metaphoric and
semantic models. The data are based on the cultural-metaphorical
model of positive emotion (love) in Georgian and English. The methodological basis of the paper is the lexical approach to
the conceptual metaphor, introduced by Zoltan Kovečes (2005) and
the model of metaphor by Rusieshvili (Rusieshvili 2005; Rusieshvili-
Cartledge and Dolidze (2020) and emphasises expressive stylistic
means of the language, the analysis of which plays a significant role
in the formation of cultural-semantic models of conceptual metaphors.
The specific features of the semantic-cultural models of conceptual
metaphors expressing the concept of love in both languages
are identified and compared, universal and variant models are singled
out.
