Abstract:
The article examines the development of production in the context of globalization, which manifests itself
in its fragmentation. It is determined that the degree of fragmentation of production depends not only on the
geographical distance, but also on the sectors in which the company operates. The possibilities of countries to
benefit from participation in global value chains are analyzed. Based on the analysis of the global value chain,
the regional nature of the organization of the production process is determined.
The paper concludes that the peculiarity of the globalization of production is manifested in its
fragmentation, in which the participating countries (developed and developing) are involved in different stages
of the formation of the global value chain and fragmentation of production, depending on the level of
macroeconomic development.
