Abstract

Poetic translation, as one of the forms of intercultural communication, still remains as an unresolved phenomenon for the scientific consideration of the creative work of translation in modern translation science. The theoretico-methodological basis of poetic translation analysis is conditioned by actual scientific principles, like anthropocentric attitude, which provide a possibility to assess the translation from the translator’s side. The modern concept of poetic translation considers several significant factors: on the one hand, it serves to enrich translation language in terms of content, rhyming, rhythm and diversity of forms; and, on the other hand – it is placed in a strictly determined frame of versification. The method for describing the original and its translations is applied on the basis of analysis of poetic works, translated and original ones, of the Georgian poets and translators, Raul Chilachava and Shota Iatashvili. Relying on polisystemic theory and communicative attitude towards translation, we analyze basic parameters of translation and offer a complex limitation between interactive systems, which are examined in the descriptive survey of literary translation.
