Abstract:
The main task at the current stage is to accelerate the diversification of the economy,
maintain high rates of development of the non-oil sector in future years, regardless of the level of oil revenues, increase competitiveness and expand export opportunities. The Development Concept “Azerbaijan-2021: a look into the future” is based on an export-oriented economic model and provides that increasing competitiveness and improving the structure of the economy will contribute to the growth of non-oil exports. The promotion and expansion of innovative activities, along with the rapid development of the non-oil industry, will create a favorable ground for the formation of a knowledge-based economy in the country.
