Abstract:
Georgia is a reliable pillar for the USA in the region as a development-oriented
country. The article highlights the current situation in Georgia in terms of the delivery
of American grants and the importance of the USA contribution to the Georgian grant
market in fi nancing Georgia, discusses the benefi ts seen in the numbers of the USA government-
funded projects, assesses the current environment and the transparency of the
activities carried out by the foundations. Sometimes the activities of grant-making organizations
contradict with the fundamental interests or values of the grant-provider foundations and the grant is squandered in vain. So special additional mechanisms and researches
are necessary to be conducted for the reasons to fi nd out how clearly are carried out
the policies of foundations and their overall activities and if there exists a question mark
about the granted organization’s work?!
Puepose of the given article is to study the current realities and challenges of
grant-making organizations recently, specifi cally from 2014-2019 and show the latest experiences
to Georgia based on the best international practices. It is strategically important
to strengthen democratic tools and institutions in order to have appropriate mechanisms
to respond to the challenges in Georgia. Proper approaches unequivocally ensure a high
standard of transparency and create opportunities for eff ective monitoring.
All of the above-mentioned gives all stakeholders opportunities to receive and disseminate
information based on objective facts and draw sound conclusions. America supports
and recognizes Georgia’s territorial integrity or sovereignty, our country’s aspirations
towards the European Union and the Euro-Atlantic space.
