    Georgia in the European Historical Literature of the XVIII century

    This paper attempts to show the meaning of the information given in the literary works of German writers of the 18th century. The works of the German historian and writer G.A. von Breitenbaukh, which testifies to the great interest of the German public to the fate of the Georgian people. We analyzed the reviews of the works of the German author, published in the press of that period. According to these estimates, the interest of the Europeans towards Eastern countries is clearly shown. В данной работе предпринята попытка показать значение сведении, данной в литературных произведениях немецких писателей XVIII столетия. Рассмотрены работы немецкого историка и литератора Г.А. фон Брейтенбауха, которые свидетельствует о большом интересе немецкой общественности к судьбе грузинского народа; Нами проанализированы рецензии к произведениям немецкого автора, опубликованные на страницах прессы того периода. По этим оценкам четко проступает заинтересованность со стороны европейцев к восточным странам.
