Item COVID-19 impact on the change of the gender-age structure of the population(Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Press, 2022) Kinkladze, Rusudan; Metreveli, Shorena; Chitaladze, KetevanThe Covid-19 crisis has been a major challenge for almost every state. It completely changed the lives of people - millions of people became ill and hundreds of thousands died. The study of the demographic structure of the population is very relevant, which at the present stage is dictated not only by the peculiarities of the socio-economic development of the country, but also by the demands of economic integration in the world economic space. At the same time, it is very important to identify specific mechanisms of population growth. The demographic factor of the population influences the formation of labor potential, largely determines the development and distribution of the productive forces of the country. The paper discusses the demographic structure of the population, which on the one hand is affected by a number of complex demographic processes, thus, in general, this or that real indicator of the population is obtained, and on the other hand, influences the nature of growth. The paper presents a statistical analysis of the events and processes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Georgia, which had an impact on the change of the sex-age structure of the population. It is noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on demographics although although it is not yet possible to fully assess them, some conclusions can already be drawn
