Item Distance education and e-learning in Georgia(Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Press, 2019) Kikoria, Giga; Gachechiladze, Sima; Pataridze, SalomeDistance learning method in many countries and is getting more and more popular. The advantage of this method is due to several factors, namely: less time spent on time and financial resources, flexibility and availability of the course, freedom of choice and mobility. The modern education system seeks to develop technological progress that is irreversible. The needs of students and pupils are rapidly changing with time, which requires modification of the education system. The distance learning method in most of the universities of Georgia does not exist or is not actively used. Although individual universities have a base that can help students get an electronic knowledge, they are less informed about it. Most of the courses on the bases of the Universities do not provide the opportunity to take the certificate, which shows a low level of development of distance learning. This article focuses on the development of distance education, the situation in the world and in Georgia and the attitude of the public towards this issue, which, in turn, is based on the findings of the December-January 2018-2019 survey conducted by authors. In addition, the article presents the opinions, conclusions and recommendations of the authors concerning the implementation of distance learning activities in Georgia.Item The role of human in shaping of the global economic and financial crises(Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Press, 2018) Kikoria, GigaThe human is the starting point for the economy. Directly or indirectly, he/she is related to the current events in the economy. Consequently, he/she has some influence on the economic process. For example, in the global financial and economic crisis, the human factor is reflected as the decision-making person, even though the causes of the crisis depend on a lot of exogenous and endogenous factors.Consequently, there are various types of crises that economists have a lot of ideas about. However, there is no single formula for the overcoming of the crisis. Thus, the problem has deep roots and the issue is still relevant. That is why it is necessary to re-discover the causes of the crisis, consider the role of a human in its shaping and to develop recommendations. The paper deals with the nature of recent global financial crises, their causes, the outcomes and the author's opinions, based on scientific literature and various analytical articles.Item The relationship between higher education and the employment market in the post-pandemic period on the examples of Georgia and Poland(Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Press, 2023) Kikoria, Giga; Sanikidze, ZezvaThe purpose of this paper is to observe and describe undergraduate students entering the labour market in Poland and in Georgia and fill the gaps in the literature. The study uses a structured and self-administered online questionnaire. The population of the University of Bydgoszcz in Poland was 900 active students, and the students of Tbilisi State University - 4460. Cramer’s V is used to check the association between different variables. The questionnaire is in line with the International Labour Organization and the National Statistics Office of Georgia methodology. This is one of the first attempts to analyse data from Poland and Georgia and focuses on undergraduate students. The article aims to determine whether there is an association between specific variables. The authors believe that this paper will gain some attention from policymakers and can allow Governments to take action. The study shows us that the results of two different countries are not as far apart as it would have to be supposed, but Georgian and Polish education system differ toward connection to the labour market. The study can be used by regulators, researchers, scientists, public institutions and Governments. The study uses a short period to collect the data and a small sample. Another limitation of the study is the non-coincidence of the Education System in Poland and Georgia. Also, the limitation that may arise is the use of Email surveys that have several limitations, primarily being that they can appear dry and uninteresting.
