Mostly, relying on the first sources from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, in the paper, it is briefly discussed R. Reagans and Popes Paul II beneficial cooperation regarding the anti- Soviet movement in Poland in the 1980s. The enormous influence of the Catholic Church in Poland, which was highly supported by the Pope's authority, played a decisive role in uniting the Polish people against Soviet imperialism. When on top of this was added Ronald Reagan's strongest desire to stop the Soviet press on Poland and America's inexhaustible political, economic, and financial resources, it became evident that the USSR could not win the battle for Poland. The defeat of the USSR in Poland was probably the first and most crucial step of breaking Europe free.en_US
