| dc.description.abstract | ~Martyrdom of Saint Konstanti Kakhi” is hagiographic story based on the symbolic principles by which life of saint Konstanti and his martyrdom are presented. In this story there are some Biblical symbols, quotations. Author gives the samples how saint Konstanti served his nation, relatives, the ecclesiastic people from distance countries, the monks, beggars, feeble and to everyone who needed help. Saint Konstanti himself was modest one, he was emphasizing the willingness to die for the Christ. He is a sample of spiritual life; future saint sees himself as sinful person, he introduces himself like one who wants to carry national sins fully. Eighty five years old saint Konstanti is rendered to the country as a person who saved the spiritual life in the period of danger. His martyrdom was predicted by the God. Saint Konstanti told the Caliph that he could touch Konstanti’s body, he could murder him, he could insult him but he could not touch his soul; that made his person strong and brave. Monologue-confession of Konstanti is full of spirituality, wisdom, wisdom of life, explanation of meaning of life and death, evil and kindness, and all this is rendered on the base of theological knowledge. ~Martyrdom of Saint Konstanti Kakhi” includes also national issues, and that is why constitutes prominent work of Georgian literature. | en_US |
