dc.description.abstractThe pension policy is one of the important constituents of the social policy of the state. The current trends in the world, which are related to the process of population aging, increase the demand for effective implementation of pension system reforms. Declining birth rates and increasing life expectancy are linked to an imbalance between employers and retirees. Thus, the main goal of any country is to create such a pension system that can effectively deal with the current demographic trends and provide a decent income for the elderly population. Only the state budget was the main source of pension financing in Georgia. However, it became necessary to reform the pension system, as a result of which a pension model based on the principle of accumulation was defined. The amount of pension within the mentioned scheme depends on the pension contribution made by the employee and the investments made. It is worth noting the risks, problems and determination of future trends related to the system.
