Abstract
The paper deals with the historical aspects of violence against women, the causes, types, detection forms, and the consequences of violence. Special emphasis has been made on the results of the national survey conducted by the UN Women and National Statistics Office of Georgia. The situation in Georgia is analyzed and relevant conclusions are made.
