dc.description.abstractThe paper describes the history of the study of students as an important socio-demographic group in Georgia and provides a critical assessment of the viewpoints of individual researchers concerning this issue. Much interest is expressed with respect to the further processing of the unpublished rich material available in the archives of the founders of the university, Ivane Javakhishvili and Akaki Shanidze, in particular, concerning the study of the socio-economic status of students. The paper provides the opinion that the further analysis of the material of the field expeditions obtained from them will bring more light to the research of the history of students~ life in Georgia.
