| dc.description.abstract | With all other various novelties, Georgia met the beginning of the 20th century with creation of proletariat and bourgeoisie, as appendix for two classes of feudalism: nobles and peasants. These new political and economic transformations caused some changes in social composition of Georgian society. Nobility is characteristic social class for feudal Georgia that had been considered as privileged and wealthy for centuries. They were not only respected at the Royal Court, but in many cases King was depended upon them in solution of political and military issues. Practically, the nobility was an essential part of monarchical state existence. In 1900-1917 the nobility was no more such privileged. After the abolition of serfdom, restriction of nobles’ rights was progressing. Development of the above-mentioned process was promoted by establishment of capitalistic system, which was followed by creation of new social classes: proletariat and bourgeoisie. In the period under review, the nobility was no longer so powerful, as it had been in the second half of 19th century. | en_US |
