From the history of the Georgian-European literary relations

Abstract

The monograph shows how European writers and travelers see Georgia, how they relate the Georgian reality to the European one, and what they consider to be the main features of Georgian identity. It is about what common tendencies characterize Georgian and European literature, that Georgian literature of the 19th century is based on both national and European literary traditions and thinking system. The book is intended for literary scholars, students of all three levels of university education and a wide range of readers.
