| dc.description.abstract | The article discusses the salaries and prices which existed in late 19th-early 20th century (till the outbreak of the World War I) in the Russian Empire, the part of which was Georgia. The information on prices and salaries is mainly based on material from the Georgian and Russian state archives, as well as on details from the novels, memoirs and epistolary inheritance of Georgian political, state and public figures such as writers, scholars and artists. In parallel to this, the article reviews the money system which existed in the Russian Empire in late 19th-early 20th century. The above information is preserved in the writings of the prominent Ge-orgian figures: Nikoloz (Niko) Avalishvili (1844-1929); Jakob Mansvetashvili (1855-1939); Isidore Ramishvili (1859-1937); Vazha-Pshavela (1861-1915); Eqvtime Takaishvili (1863-1953); Giorgi Laskhishvili (1866-1931); Tedo Sa-khokia (1868-1956); Lado Bzvaneli/ Vladimer Natsvlishvili (1871-1946); Kon-stantine (Kote) Marjanishvili (1872-1933); Konstantine (Kote) Makashvili (1876-1929); Vladimer (Valodia) Goguadze (1880-1954); Dimitri Javakhishvili (1882-1971); Konstantine Kandelaki (1883-1959); Shalva Amirejibi (1887-1943); Vladimer (Lado) Japaridze (1887-1981); Andria Razmadze (1889-1929); Ekaterine (Tsatsa) Amirejibi (1889-1975); Vladimir (Lado) Japaridze (1889-1977); Gorgi Chitaia (1890-1986); Mikheil Chiaureli (1894-1974); Shal-va Maglakelidze (1894-1976); Giorgi Leonidze (1897-1966);Kandid Charkviani (1906-1994); Giorgi Zaridze (1908-1999); Vakhtang Parkadze (1912-1996) and others. One of the major conclusions of the present article is that in late 19th-early 20th century the existing salaries and prices across much of the Russian Empire were in conformity. | en_US |
