| dc.description.abstract | In this paper we are discussing the issue of cognitive process idioms in Georgian language. Cognition as the essential part of human life is considered to be the way of perception of Universe. There is a big group of Georgian idioms and fraseological unities expressing the cogni-tive process. We have divided the data into following groups : 1. Idioms expressing emotions related to sensual process. 2. Idioms which express the entire description and features of the thing. 3. Interest as a strong motivator of cognitive process and idioms connected with. 4. Idioms expressing memorizing process. 5. Idioms describing thinking process and person’s intellectual abili-ties. 6. Idioms expressing the imagination process. 7. There is a direct reference between language and thinking. We have explored idioms with verbal activities content. It must be admitted that all above mentioned groups consist of the idioms with positive meaning (successful cognitive operation) and with positive content (failed process). The “cognitive dissonance” process is examined as well. | en_US |
