Most of Akaki Tsereteli's poems represent ethno-national specifics; The main point and ideas are expressed hiddenly in them, In the structure of a fictional text, this function is often utilised by a dream. in this regard, Akaki's poem “Shamil's dream” provides a bright example, It presents the war in the Caucasus and tells about the mistake of Georgia's participation.. The dream described in the poem is a realization of a specific, ethnonational event called the Caucasus War., Which lasted for more than half a century and in which the main part came from the efforts of the Georgians against the Caucasian mountaineers. So, the war in the Caucasus is an attempt to show the peculiarities and specifics of the Georgian mentality (in relation to time), Which was even reflected in the poem-dream written by a Georgian writer. The function of the dream in the literary text, according to this particular work, is defined as the identification of the writers and Shamil's dream, To move the writer's dissatisfaction (over the defeat of the Caucasus) to Shamil's dream. The article presents a parallel discussion of the topic raised by Akaki's - the war in the Caucasus With the eyes of romantics. If for Baratashvili the defeat of the Dagestanis by the Russian command is considered to a victory for the Georgians, for Akaki this war is the death of the whole Caucasus, which includes Georgia.en_US
