Systematic aspects of strategic planning of tourist destination

Development of a tourist destination is directly linked to the exploration of theoretical and empirical findings. There is emerging literature on destination development which focus on the strategic planning, sustainable development, marketing, considering the wide range of spectrums which determines competitiveness of the tourist destinations. The complexity of the tourism system and conceptual understanding of policy planning and development processes will be discussed in this paper. Current trends in the tourism industry make it relevant to analyze in depth the ability of a tourist destination to adapt to changing conditions. In fact, changes have become a natural phenomenon, which is closely related to continuity. Correspondingly, in this respect assessment of the tourism industry and tourism destination as a system is particularly important. The article examines the conceptual aspects of tourism destination development and provides a systematic review of studding dynamic system, which allows us to analyze in depth the determinants responsible for the destination competitiveness.
