Abstract
From the second half of the 20th century in Georgia, the neglect of a number of environmental requirements
and other quasi-ecological processes laid to technogenic development. As the process of post-communist
transformation deepened, the negative anthropogenic impact on the environment increased and the ecological
situation in the country significantly worsened due to the influence of both local and global ecological
problems. The current ecological situation in the country requires the restoration of the disturbed balance and
the formation of a model of ecological development that ensures the harmonious development of society and
nature.
Based on the relevance of the above mentioned issue, the paper discuss the indicators of air pollution and
climate change in Georgia. The current ecological situation is analyzed based on indicators.
