| dc.description.abstract | Mainly, in Georgian historiography, we meet the following dates of death of Queen Tamar – 1207, 1210 and 1213 (however, 1212 and 1215/1216 are also mentioned). K. Kekelidze took year 1215 as date of Queen Tamar`s death. He counted that she was ruling over the country for 31 years and he began calculating from year 1184. (1184+31=1215). Here we should take into account one very important fact – which year should we take as a date of Queen Tamar`s coronation? Almost every historian takes year 1184 as date of her coronation, the year when King George III died and Tamar began ruling country alone. We agree with the opinion of N.Shoshiashvili, that date of Tamar`s coronation is year 1179. In this case we get year 1210 (1179+31=1210), as date of Queen`s death. | en_US |
