Abstract
On June 12, 1918 the first Generalquartiermeister of Military Headquarters of German Empire – General Erich von Ludendorff sent the private letter to General Wilhelm Groener. The letter preserves very important information about interests of German Empire in whole Caucasus and Georgia in general. Actually, German Empire was interested in following: Caucasian resources and creation of strong Georgian army. According to Ludendorff’s point of view, Georgia was reckoned to be as a center of anti-Slavic movement and around her whole North and South Caucasus were have to be united. The first step towards that direction must have been the official acknowledgement of newly emerged Georgian state and soon after, that to sign bilateral treaty with Georgia alone. Treaty of the Central Powers and Georgia could have been the next step.
