Abstract
The main development factor of the country, is increasing the competitiveness of the economy and ensuring
the socio-economic and institutional stability. Today, the priority goal of economic policy is to ensure stability
of development and predictability of processes. The success of the post-crisis rehabilitation of the economy,
together with the specificity of the global economy and the ability of the world markets to overcome the
negative consequences of the crisis, was significantly dependent on the effective realization of their own plans
by the countries, the determination of an independent rehabilitation strategy and the correct allocation of priorities. The dynamics of coming out of the crisis was determined by the state's ability to promote institutional
changes, the formation of new structures, setting the right priorities and implementing policies to support the
economy.
The paper provides forecasts of post-crisis rehabilitation of agriculture, as one of the main export directions,
and the main ways of government support to the sector. In the paper it is also discussed the functional
transformations of the governing and coordinating role of the government for the development of the sector
and the forecasts of the sectoral development of the Georgian economy in the post-crisis period. The work researches
role of the agricultural sector in the economic development of the country and its effective positioning
on the world markets.
