Abstract

The great diversity of ethnic backgrounds has produced religious pluralism. Americans have a “civil religion”. In a paper I aim to show how American political and religious establishment implements political instrumentalism of religion. Conservators show why morality and freedom have crumbled in USA. They call for a massive movement in government, law and in all segments of everyday life to reestablish Judeo-Christian foundations and turn the tide of moral decadence and loss of freedom. To their mind to be American means to be WASP.
