dc.description.abstractThis paper deals with a specific passage of Rustaveli’s “Knight in Panther’s Skin”, which contains an oxymoronic pair of adjectives – „კარგი საეშმაკო“. It will be demonstrated that this passage has been hitherto vastly misunderstood by all commentators and translators as they did not consider its Platonic and Neo-Platonic context, adhered to Rustaveli. In the paper, I analyze this context and show that a similar oxymoron occurs in Ioane Petritsi’s commentaries on The Elements of Theology by Proclus, which could have been Rustaveli’s direct source.en_US
