Abstract
Industry 4.0 and digital transformation is profoundly transforming SMEs’ business activities. SMEs represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. In 2020, 99.6% of active enterprises in Georgia were SMEs. A digitalisation journey of a business requires a long-term vision along with skills and capacity development. With this base the challenge for SMEs is to create flexible organisational structures and to boost their employees’ interdisciplinary thinking. At the end the author gives a brief conclusion.
